Industrial equipment vibration diagnostics application

Vibration Diagnostics and Structural-Dynamics Testing

Industrial sites commonly present complex operating conditions, short shutdown windows, inaccessible measurement points and difficult sensor cabling. Non-contact laser vibrometry captures surface response and can be combined with synchronized references, ODS and modal analysis to support vibration-source identification, structural weak-area localization and design improvement.

Typical Measurement Tasks

01

Measure operating response, ODS and localized abnormal regions.

02

Identify natural frequency, damping and structural modes of components.

03

Perform synchronized multi-point monitoring, before/after comparison and diagnostic retesting.

Recommended Products and Configuration Logic

Use the Automated Non-Contact Damping Measurement System for damping, decay and natural-frequency tasks; the Multifunction Laser Doppler Vibrometer for customized field integration; and the Multi-Channel Synchronous Laser Vibrometer where a common reference and synchronous responses are required.

Suggested Test Workflow

  1. Record speed, load, control state, supports and environmental conditions.
  2. Define a safe measurement area, laser line of sight, reference channels and repeat locations.
  3. Compare raw time histories and operating-condition stability before spectral, ODS or modal analysis.
  4. Interpret structural response together with excitation source, transfer path and boundary conditions, then retain a retest baseline.
